Course Introduction
The course “Apply Principles of Banking Law” is designed to equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of the legal, ethical, and regulatory framework that governs the operations of banking and financial institutions. It explores the essential principles, rights, and obligations that guide relationships between banks, their clients, employees, and regulatory bodies.
In today’s complex financial environment, banking institutions operate under strict legal and compliance standards to ensure accountability, integrity, and consumer protection. This course introduces learners to the foundational aspects of banking law, including contractual obligations, disclosure requirements, corporate governance, internal controls, anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Learners will gain practical skills in interpreting and applying workplace policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and statutory regulations that govern financial services. They will also learn how to handle consumer complaints, review contracts, ensure ethical conduct, and promote compliance in line with both local and international banking laws.
